About me

I work as an Environmental Scientist at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Material Science and Technology (EMPA). I hold an MSc in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from EPFL.

I am truly fascinated by the complexity of nature, namely the nexus of fine relationships that govern the processes in it and, which we humans are a part of. When I was a kid my parents encouraged asking questions and understanding why things are the way they are. That nourished curiosity stuck with me and I went from a knowledge-hungry kid to a high school student researcher, top of the class graduate at the University of Belgrade, an EPFL student with Excellence Fellowship, and finally ended as an EPFL graduate with excellence honors.

 

Besides being a proven sapiophile, I am a peculiar combination of a city kid, a globetrotter, and a keen hiker. First, because I was born and raised in the city centre of Belgrade, Serbia; second because I enjoy trips and experiences that combine cultural heritage, galleries with the works of impressionists and local cuisine; and third because - well, who wouldn’t love exploring the dazzling Swiss mountains with their friends and family?

 

When at my base, I dedicate my free time to learning my 5th language - German and getting ever better in Hungarian, doing pilates, or having quality time with my loved ones.

 

As to my professional experiences, I was an Environmental Affairs Intern at UN Environment in Geneva; I conducted several environmental consulting and feasibility projects in the waste management sector and performed an applied environmental assessment for the textile industry. My most recent project is on medical plastic use and management in Germany.

Finally, I acted as the VP of the Consulting Society of EPFL; was part of Organizing Committee of Belgrade-based 400-youth conference for 3 years; was a Content Collaborator of Radio-Television of Serbia for 1 year and was chosen to attend Merit360 Program for Youth Leaders in Sustainable Development.
